Hsi Hseng Township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone, Myanmar — Intense rainfall during July has led to widespread flooding in Hsi Hseng Township, severely impacting local agriculture.
According to residents, seasonal crops including summer and monsoon paddy, as well as maize, have been submerged, causing significant damage and loss for local farmers.
“တောင်သူများအနေဖြင့် မျှော်လင့်ချက်ဖြင့် စိုက်ပျိုးခဲ့တဲ့သီးနှံများဖြစ်ပြီး ရာသီဥတုအခြေအနေကြောင့် ထိခိုက်မှုများစွာရှိနေတဲ့အတွက်ကြောင့် တောင်သူတွေဘဝကအလွန်ပင်ခက်ခဲပါတယ် ရေမြုပ်နေတာ ၂၉ရက်နေ့ကတည်းကခုထိရေကပြန်မကျသေးပါဘူး”လို့ စိုက်ပျိုးတောင်သူတစ်ဦးကပြောပါသည်။
“The crops we planted with so much hope are now underwater. The flooding began on July 29 and the water hasn’t receded yet. This has made life extremely difficult for us,” said one local farmer.
နောက်နှစ်တွေမှာ ရေကြီးမိုးကြီးရင် ထပ်မံရေမြုပ်မှုတွေမဖြစ်တော့အောင် ကြိုတင်ကာကွယ်ခြင်းလုပ်ငန်းတွေဆောင်ရွက်ဖို့လိုအပ်နေပြီဖြစ်ကြောင်း ဒေသခံတစ်ဦးကပြောပါသည်။
